the first floating artline was created by willy cauwelier and so started the LIGHTMERIDIAN from te north to the south pole, at the casino of blankenberge / belgium, assisted with lazer rays.// this so called lightmeridian continued till the light muze'um Light & Landscape at roeselare-zilverberg / belgium in order to run through west-flandres, france, spain ad north africa till lagos.

Light art: check. But wasn't Muze’um L also the museum of landscape? For that we have to be outside of course. There, on the LIGHTMERIDIAN near the museum and the neighboring plots, artists can develop a location project. As long as it has a connection with the environment, the landscape, the light. more

How inspiring can light be? It leads to beautiful architecture such as Olafur Eliasson's Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. Or to light festivals in Eindhoven, Brussels or Ghent. Or… it is the starting point for a special museum. A well-kept secret in the rolling hills near the French border in West Flanders, a corner of Belgium. A private initiative that is nothing more or less than an ode to light and landscape. And to art and architecture. Muze’um L, the Roeselaars museum with light and landscape as muse. more
