The idea is based on a constantly growing project for years.

The official go-ahead of the LIGHTMERIDIAN took place on July 21, 2016 at Blankenberge / be by Sven Gatz, former Minister of Flemish culture,

From 2015 onwards, the Info Point has gained experience, mainly in visualizing the LIGHTMERIDIAN on its site.

At 2022, the LIGHTMERIDIAN will start internationally, and first close to home: West Flanders. We therefore have invited the appropriate mayors of West Flanders to look for a suitable venue in their municipality , see for aid for the proposals of the artists and thus to start the LIGHTMERIDIAN internationally.
